The air was full with expectancy: 
God’s ancient promise still rang.
A king would soon be coming…
of victory and power they sang.
The most important event in history,
planned before time began,
prophesied down through the centuries,
the solution for every man!
The Messiah, the Christ, was coming…
the Saviour of the whole world.
He would establish a Kingdom:
a Kingdom more precious than pearls.
A Kingdom where God is the King;
where the Saviour connects us to Him.
And He works to change us within,
so we love one another and not sin.
He came! But most did not know…
they were blind and thought He’d be different:
a king must wear royal robes
and able to defeat earthly foes.
So they scoffed Him in anger… then killed Him…
the One who came from above
taking the form of a man and servant
to save and bring hope and love.
Still today many turn their hearts from Him:
not see how great is God’s love,
His amazing plan of redemption
for each one who trusts in His Son.
But those in Jesus’ Kingdom
wait expecting His soon return.
In glory He’ll come for His children
and as King and Judge of the earth!
