When Skies Are Grey

Poems to lift the heart

Today, skies are grey:
storm clouds threaten to destroy.
Unwelcome things have come my way
and stolen peace and joy.

But God still reigns in Heaven!
Each storm comes through His hand.
Never will He leave us
and gives all we need to stand.

Every dark and adverse cloud
God uses for our good.
He will not permit His own brought down
though “why” not understood.

Holy is our God;
righteous are His ways.
He asks His children to be holy too
in all they do and say.

Only in Jesus can this be.
He’s our Refuge, Life… the Way.
Hold on and trust when dark clouds rage;
He is our Hope and Stay.

Evil will not win!
No storm’s too big for God!
Jesus triumphed over sin and Satan:
let them not defraud our joy.
