The love of God… beyond comprehension!
Its depth and height above all measure!
Full and bounding, faithful, matchless;
compared to a feast, we but lick its sweetness.
If God’s love is seen as the heavens,
we stand amazed at His majestic Presence.
The sun, the moon, the planets, stars
are but reflections of His love so vast.
God’s love when viewed as a mighty ocean,
our understanding only skirts the surf.
Deep beneath lie unfathomed waters
longing to be explored and searched.
His love described as the richest mine
is full of jewels to seek and find.
‘Tis like a book unfolding an enthralling tale;
as a well whose living waters never fail.
How do we know He truly loves?
Just look at what He’s done and does!
The Son of God, reigning above
in the Trinity of love
chose to lay Heaven aside…
stooped… and came to earth beneath
to live and die for our need,
so from sin’s curse we are set free.
This love of God is infinite,
glorious, faultless, clear, pure light.
Let it melt our stubborn hearts with tears,
fill us so we’re free from fears
and feed and keep us through the years.
But only then will we have scratched its surface,
for whatever we could speak or think,
God’s love exceedingly surpasses!
