It’s hard to find meaning in the world today with so much happening we do not like. But I am so glad there is a God who is above all the ugliness and is safe to trust. One day reasons will be understood!
I know not about tomorrow
I cannot bank upon today;
when I view the world around me
it gives reason for dismay.
If this world holds all my dreams;
with the key wrapped up in me,
one day I’ll find ‘me’ bankrupt
and lost my destiny.
But there is one thing for certain:
secure and pure as gold.
It’s the God who made and loves us
whose hands the world does hold.
Nothing can alarm Him;
He knows our world of pain;
always He is with us;
He cleanses from each stain.
He lifts us out of pits;
turns things round to work for good.
And when He comes to make this world anew,
the reasons will be understood.
