“Poems From a Horrible Pit … and Deliverance From It” will be a series of 12 poems I will share over the next few weeks.
Nearly all of them come from the book “Comfort When Life Hurts“
I Am Angry God
I am angry, God!
My dreams are gone,
my hopes are lost.
I thought things would
for us be good.
I know You know
and desire the best.
You have the power
and could have stopped.
But You chose not!
Why, O God, did You allow
this mess we’re in,
the miseries of sin?
How do You love
and care from above?
Your love exceeds
my desire for ease.
You used the hurts
to You to bring
and fill my heart with eternal things!
(Ps.119:67,71, Is.38:17, Lam.3:31-33,
Rom.8:28-29, Job 5:17-18)
This is one of my early poem/songs.
I was greatly troubled and so alone, and great was my despair, I thought I down in a bottomless pit and the world had just left my there. But my chains fell off as He raised me up. He said not to worry for the sins I had done. I died on the cross for you My son.
Chorus
Tis the cleansing blood of calvary, that washes our sins away, and helps to lead us ever on, to a bright and glorious day. A day for Jesus, joy and power. I could sing His praises for hours and hours. I could sing His praises for hours and hours
So if at anytime you want it to be, the same for you, as it is now for me. Open your heart and let Him in. Try doing it today. Open your heart and let Him in, He won’t forget You He’ll save you from sin. He won’t forget you, He’ll save you from sin.
