I Am Angry, God! (from book Comfort When Life Hurts)

Poems From a Horrible Pit … and Deliverance From It” will be a series of 12 poems I will share over the next few weeks.
Nearly all of them come from the book Comfort When Life Hurts

I do not want to just share the horrible pit I found myself in, but also, and mainly, I want to share Jesus, the One who pulled me out of that pit.
They will tell a story: a  journey with God.
May those who are hurting in any way find comfort as I truly did.

The first poem  expresses  my anger with God for allowing the situation. Hindsight, I see the amazing things He has done in me and for me through the pain.

 I Am Angry God

I am angry, God!
My dreams are gone,
my hopes are lost.
I thought things would
for us be good.

I know You know
and desire the best.
You have the power
and could have stopped.
But You chose not!

Why, O God, did You allow
this mess we’re in,
the miseries of sin?
How do You love
and care from above?

Your love exceeds
my desire for ease.
You used the hurts
to You to bring
and fill my heart with eternal things!

(Ps.119:67,71, Is.38:17, Lam.3:31-33,
 Rom.8:28-29, Job 5:17-18)
